Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is helping the region’s property professionals find out more about handling problem tenants.

The firm’s commercial property solicitors are hosting a free breakfast seminar to outline how landlords and agents can manage breaches of a tenancy agreement effectively.

Dealing with Problem Tenants will be held on Wednesday (March 8) at The Crucible’s Adelphi Room in the city centre from 8-10am. Led by Taylor&Emmet’s property litigation specialist, James Parden, the event will focus on issues such as damage to property, complaints from neighbours and managing intervention from the police and other agencies.

Heir hunter boosts Taylor&Emmet probate team

Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, is expanding its growing wills and probate department with the appointment of a specialist in complicated intestacy cases.

Trust and estate practitioner, Ben Brown, joins the firm to strengthen the services offered to local families and develop its extensive private client department.

Barnsley resident, Ben, worked previously at Elmhirst Parker in his home town and will be based at Taylor&Emmet’s city centre headquarters. He brings a wealth of expertise in matters handled by beneficiary tracing organisations, helping to prove relatives’ entitlement to the estates of individuals who died without making a will and then making a claim.

Key promotion boosts Taylor&Emmet employment team

A major promotion at Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, is enhancing the employment law and HR support it offers to businesses and individuals.

Respected employment law specialist, Tom Draper, has been made a partner and head of department after 10 years with the firm.

Having joined Taylor&Emmet to complete his legal training, Tom will now seek to grow the employment team, building on the quality advice for which it is renowned both locally and nationally, in sectors including construction, the motor trade and education.

Taylor&Emmet dances into action for abuse victims

A group of family law experts from Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP have donned their dancing shoes to show love and support for female victims of violence.

The firm’s family law team joined organisations across the city at a Valentine’s Day Flash Dance in the Peace Gardens to demand an end to the abuse and exploitation of women.

An hour-long celebration of music and dance was held at lunchtime as part of the V Day campaign organised by global movement, One Billion Rising. It was one of a series of events taking place across the UK and comprised music from a samba band, dance displays and a collective rendition of the ‘Break the Chain’ routine.

Taylor&Emmet transforms commercial property team

Taylor&Emmet LLP is expanding the legal services it offers to commercial land and property owners in Sheffield and North Derbyshire, with two key partner appointments.

The firm is welcoming Alastair Reid and George Thomson to its Sheffield and Bakewell offices respectively, to grow and enhance its reputation for commercial property advice.

Experienced industry specialist, Alastair Reid, joins Taylor&Emmet from Hill Dickinson, where he was head of the Sheffield office, before moving to Manchester following the firm’s restructuring in 2014. He handles all types of matters, from development work to social housing.
