Sheffield solicitors, Taylor&Emmet LLP, are highlighting the serious and costly impact whistleblowing can have on local organisations.

The firm’s employment law specialists are inviting business owners and managers to a free seminar explaining how to handle such incidents correctly.

Held at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, ‘A Whistleblowing Masterclass’ will run from 8-10am on Thursday September 20. Training will be led by Taylor&Emmet’s head of employment law, Simon Brian and will cover the disclosures protected by law, possible claims and compensation, as well as practical tips to help to avoid claims.

Simon said: “Whistleblowing is the act of reporting or exposing wrongdoing in the workplace and failure to respond lawfully can cause serious and costly harm to a business. We want to help managers identify when and how to react and explain how to treat the individual involved and information received properly, so they don’t fall foul of current legislation.”

This free breakfast seminar will include an opportunity to network with other delegates and ask questions of Taylor&Emmet’s employment law team. For more information, telephone (0114) 218 4000, visit www.tayloremmet.co.uk or email events@tayloremmet.co.uk.
